2018 Conference Attendance Grants
Complete applications and recommendations must be received by September 15, 2018 to be considered. Awardees will be notified by October 1, 2018.
Up to 6 grants will be awarded. These grants cover registration and/or hotel expenses at the annual IFLTA Conference for pre-service teachers, teachers in the first five years of teaching, and/or experienced teachers who are attending the conference for the first time. Preference is given in each case to first-time attendees. Grant recipients must attend the conference on Thursday (if they are new or pre-service teachers), Friday, and Saturday. One-day-only attendees are ineligible.
Attendance grant winners agree to attend a leadership workshop and help at the conference information table; recipients should be available on both Friday and Saturday of the conference.
Applications may be submitted at any time.
If you are planning a special project or event that promotes world language teaching and learning, you may submit a request for financial assistance from IFLTA. Mini-grants (amounts up to $300 for constituent organizations and $100 for individuals can be requested) may be awarded as funds are available.
Applicant must have been a member of IFLTA for three years. Applications may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed at the next meeting of the Board of Directors (normally March, May, August, and December of each year).
These grants cannot be used for individual travel expenses.
Should a mini-grant be awarded, the applicant agrees to write an article about the project or event to be printed in the IFLTA Newsletter.
